Rochester Button Company

Description

The Rochester Button Company was a division of the Rochester Button Company of Rochester New York. It was located at 1002 East Sixth Avenue, Brodhead Wisconsin. The building was constructed in 1903 as a tobacco warehouse. In 1944 it was purchased by The Rochester Button Company and remodeled to meet manufacturing needs. In 1951 it was sold to Capital Plastics, a division of Dyslan Corporation of Rochester N.Y. At that time a new warehouse was added and they produced plastic resin. They remained in business until February 1971. The machinery and technology was sold to Allied Chemical. A short time later the building was purchased by Amwood Homes and was used for construction of pre-fabricated homes.
