The Federated Department Store

Inside The Federated Department Store at 1027 First Center Avenue in Brodhead, Wisconsin. L-R: Olaf Anderson, Hazel Dunwiddie, May Bowen, Lola Engelhardt, and George Charles. Before it was The Feerated it was Stair Brother's Department Store. In 1953 it became Sutherland's Department Store. When Sutherland's closed it became The Antique Mall. In later years it was Mike's Flooring and is now Brodhead Family Chiropractic and Willow Rae Hair Studio. Hazel Dunwiddie worked at the same store for 50 years, starting in September 1928 and retiring in November 1978.
