Title
Dedication of The Green County Courthouse
Description
In the fall of 2021 it was determined that the roof of the courthouse needed to be replaced. Since the courthouse is an historic building and wanting to keep it as close as possible to the original structure, Renaissance Historic Exteriors was brought in to do the work. This company only works on historic landmarks. When the roof repairs started significant damage to the structure of the building was found. The whole building was refurbished over a two year period, paying close attention to keeping the building original. The courthouse was built in 1891 in the Richardsonian Romanesque style. It was constructed of red brick and limestone. The architect was G. Stanley Mansfield. The photo is of the Green County supervisors on the property committee that oversaw the renovation. It was taken at the rededication ceremony. L-R; Dennis Schwartz, Jody Hoesly, Barb Krattiger, Joe Snow, and Roger Trutmann. The courthouse is the center of the square in Monroe Wisconsin.
